But what if in the future Apple produces another OS and Pro Tools again becomes inopperable, it's not like Avid will be their to console their stricken investers. For a true artist, his work is uncompromiseable, however, do I sacrifice an exceptional MIDI controller which only works best with Pro Tools and stick with Apples Logic as I'd originally planned. So in either case i'm forced to risk certain sacrifices. ![]() Talk about getting too big for your britches.) and becoming **** bent on boy-cotting them,if but only out of principle, it doesn't change the fact Axioms latest control surface is groundbreaking. Despite my disgust of Avids complete disregard ( it's not like we haven't already paid extra through the nose for Eleven Rack just for the fact it comes with Pro Tools, but what would it really cost Avid to replace the updated software? It's less than pennies to burn a disk last I checked, but no, they'll rather have musicians that keep them in buisiness flush $500 down the sewer. By the time I had enough $ to afford a Macbook Pro to go with my new Eleven Rack (which pretty much stinks as a stand alone unit - unless you whant twanggy swing guitars that sound like fret-buzz) that compatibility had since gone extinct, with the ultimate victoms being the working class consumers, much worse the starving artists. Many people, like myself purchasd Eleven Rack due to it's "supposed" high-end quality, so naturally we would opt to use it with a MAC. And now I've just read much in this Discussions tread about how much trouble and querkiness folks are having using Axiom with "Logic." Corporate warfare is bad enough, without effecting consumers as casualties, but what's going on now is inexcusable and even borderline criminal. ![]() And now I find out that even though The Axiom Pro line is compatible with many DAWs, it is especially designed for Pro Tools. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. Since Apple's "Logic Studio" is Pro Tools' biggest competition, and nothing is more ideal for DAWs than MAC, what if the sudden incompatibility between Apple's new OS and Pro Tools was no coincidence. ![]() They won't even say "I'm not sure, perhaps," but straight up "No." Besides, I already knew Apple has bigger fish to fry. Moreover, they are outright liars since on their forum it says "they are working with Apple to try and resolve the problem," which is BS since you'll never hear those words from any tech or representative at Avid. But what if you're outside your grace period, then you've just put money in the pockets of Eleven Rack and Avid for a brite shiny orange center-piece. Incidentally, I've just discovered that M-Audio has been a product of Avid (Pro Tools, etc.) for 3 or so years now, and for what its worth, I'm no big fan since I just found out that the Pro Tools software that comes with Eleven Rack does not woork with "Lion" - WHAT!!! - (only the greatest Operating System ever.) And all the Avid support hotline had to say was "buy the upgrade software" - they wish, Eleven Rack is largely overpriced (and over estimated, not to mention infamous for having the worst support service ever), or return my unit for a refund. However, niether does it help getting any of the "bells & whistles" to function (except for the master fader) like the transport buttons. How to configure axiom pro 61 control interface with garageband '11? Getting sound is not the problem, in fact I can't find a way not to get sound, even when switching in/out sound preferences.
